    The Turkish Van or “Swimming cat” originated in the region around Lake Van in Turkey, where it developed the habit of swimming out into the harbour to greet the incoming fishing boats in the hope of scoring a free meal

    Needs to be combed twice a week to remove dead hairs to prevent hairballs

    In winter these cats have a heavier coat, so more grooming is needed during this time

    Females are 4.5-6.5kg & Males are 6-8kg
